Day 15 of #Covid19 #socialdistance
Today we painted egg shells and after then we sang songs to count them.
During the past few days, when cooking we opened the egg shells by doing a hole at the bottom, washed them and put them to dry, so that today we had them ready to go.
Egg shells are delicate so we had to learn handling them with super extra care.
We still have to decide how to use them, perhaps to decorate our garden to welcome the Easter bunny - so that he will leave more chocolate - but we are not quite sure yet.
After painting the eggs, we counted them and then we sang a song, using both our hands:
10 eggs cooking in the pan
the pan got hot and then 1 went bang!
9 eggs cooking in the pan [and so on]
We also sang a modified version of the song to count backward by 2 units
10 eggs cooking in the pan
one went pop and the other went bang!
8 eggs cooking in the pan [and so on]
I took down 1 finger per hand, rather than 2 on the same hand.
This was a bit more tricky but in the end we got it!
Learning outcomes:
Counting and subtracting 1 and 2 units
Fine motor skills
Materials: egg shells, colours, a carton tray to put them to dry
