Day 28 of #covid19 #socialdistance
Today my daughter woke up holding Belòn the Bear in her harms, and thought perhaps we may build a copy with cartons.
Belòn is a 37 years old bear, who migrated from Italy last year after obtaining a proper visa. Nonna M., who's our top fan and reads us every day, took care of preparing him for his long trip to Australia. It was daddy's teddy. Belòn used to have a faithful companion bear called The Other, but The Other left unnoticed and no one really knows where he is now. Belòn, on the contrary, has waited patiently his chance to travel the world with us.
So we built a copy of Belòn and since he was feeling lonely without his companion The Other, we made him a new friend, but we don't know yet what's her name.
She has a mouth, unlike Belòn, so she can smile to him and talk to him - my daughter says.
We used then as pen-pencil-feltpen holder and started our activities. We've been drawing all day using shapes and patterns first, but then we decided to talk about family and friendship and so we used characters from Peppa Pig to make stories.
Learning outcomes:
craft a copy of a real object
shape awareness
draw and follow patterns
family and friendship
Materials: for the bears, toilet rolls, carton boxes (cereals are perfect), colours, glue.
