Day 34: April 25 celebrations for Italo-Australians

Perth, April 25 2020

Today it's a special day both for Italy and Australia. It's ANZAC day in Australia, and Liberation Day in Italy. We celebrated by making artwork that mixes symbols from both countries: poppy flowers and the Italian flag.

We talked about why we celebrate ANZAC and Liberation Day, sang traditional songs and read rhymes about peace and freedom. We also had lunch outdoor, because it's a special day.

Learning outcomes:

cultural traditions & meanings

a bit of history

Materials: poppy flowers are made of egg cartons, with a black piece of paper at the centre; flag is made of carton box. Other materials: glue and colours.
