Day 38: Chemical biscuits

Perth, April 29 2020

Today we baked chocolate biscuits! We had so much fun measuring the ingredients and mixing all up, put the dough to rest in the fridge, and then cut biscuits the shape of... chemistry lab equipment!

We went through what the various shapes represent... but making and eating the biscuits was way more fun.

Recipe:

300 g flour

30 g cocoa powder - dark

150 g butter

130 g icing sugar

3 egg yolks

Mix flour and cold butter cut into dice; add everything else and make a uniform dough (add a little bit of milk if it's too dry). Put it into cling wrap for at least ½ hour in the fridge and then cut the biscuit the shape you like after making a base a few mm thick.

Bake in oven with fan 180 degrees, 15-20 minutes.
