Day 40 of #covid19 #socialdistance
Today we planted our second frangipani tree in our garden, after waiting for the cut to dry for the past week. Now we have 1 with white and 1 with pink flowers. The one with white fowers is very tiny, but it will grow.
We worked a bit in the garden, planning some renovation - very slowly. After then, we watered the plants and then we did a short activity to learn about trees, how they drink and feed and grow.
The picture is quite self explaining. We also talked about buds and flowers, but did not draw them. We had some fun cutting green parts from old newspapers and making the grass, and then cutting coloured parts to make flowers. Here, a picture of our beautiful frangipanis.
Learning outcomes:
sustainability
how to take care of a plan
main parts of a tree
Materials: for the garden, whatever you have in plan to do; for the drawings: carton boxes, cuts from newspapers, glue, colours, sticky tape.
