Day 42 of #covid19 #socialdistance
Today we used potatoes to paint flowers (and a butterfly), and then learnt about the various parts that make a flower in our two languages.
How did we do?
We cut baby potatoes in half and used them as stamps. A kind of artwork that has been used to entertain children since long ago - I remember doing it at school!
We had good fun - obviously you can draw anything you like. We decided to draw flowers so that we could continue our activities about plants and flowers and environment.
We made tags with the names of the main parts of a flower (with a small image as a reminder, as my daughter can't really read) and then we played for a while. It's fun doing it bilingual!
We learnt flowers eat & drink, like trees, through their roots. They have much in common with trees but they are not as big: flowers can be on a tree, but trees can't be on a flower!
Learning outcomes:
parts of flower
shape awareness
