Day 8 of #covid19 #SocialDistance.
Today we started our Easter decorations. We made Easter bunnies from toilet rolls and did some maths in the process.
We first coloured the toilet rolls with white and the back of some cereal boxes' parts with pink and other colours. We discovered that to make pink we needed lots of white, a drop of red and a drop of yellow.
We then needed to count pieces. We figured out that 5 bunnies make 5 noses and 10 ears. 4 whiskers per bunny means more whiskers than ears, though we cannot count that far yet. We practiced fine motor skills with cut&paste and there we are, the bunnies are ready!
Learning outcomes:
Numbers and counting
fine motor skills
Materials: toilet rolls, colours, scissors, pieces of thick paper or thin carton (e.g. cereal/pasta/biscuit boxes)
