Day 53 of #covid19 #socialdistance
Today we made snowflakes biscuits - a special ready-to-go mixture I received as a gift for Mother's Day, to bake with my daughter.
After having fun mixing and baking, we made a snowflake using Q-tips.
At the end, my daughter said: "that's so symmetric!". I couldn't be happier to hear that. It means all these activities are leaving a memory in her mind and stimulate the ability to make connections between things. I noticed, day by day, her drawing, language, shape awareness skills progressing at a very high speed. All of this while having great fun.
We talked about the activity of DAY 43, when we talked about the water cycle. We talked about snow flakes, that are basically ice forming at very specific conditions in the clouds, and growing droplet by droplet into these beautiful shapes. Snowflakes are so small, though, that we cannot see them with our naked eye. We rather see aggregations of snowflakes, the white soft tiny balls that come down when it snows. Too bad we are in Perth, but we have seen the snow a few times in Italy and we will again as soon as we can go visit our families there!
Learning outcomes:
water cycle - snow
fine motor skills
Materials: Q-tips, carton box, glue, cookie mixture (or make your own biscuit and glaze and buy snowflakes decorations)
